The Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 is looking to appoint new Commissioners with high-level expertise of sustainability or a related area, a track record of working in the field and knowledge and experience of delivering environmental, social or sustainable development assurance programmes.

Commissioners will provide expert advice and commentary to guide the Commission’s assurance work, ensuring that the London 2012 delivery bodies are meeting the set sustainability targets.

The Commission is particularly looking for expertise in the following areas: merchandise, supply chains, labour standards, licensing, large scale event management, food, catering, transport, and particularly public transport, community regeneration, behaviour change and economic sustainability.

The Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 was established in 2007 to provide independent assurance and commentary to the Olympic Board in order to enable the sustainability objectives of the London 2012 programme to be achieved and to support a sustainable legacy.

The role is not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be covered. The time commitment is no more than 20 day per annum. If you cannot commit to 20 days you may apply to be a Co-opted Expert to the Commission.

The Commission would particularly welcome applications from residents of the London 2012 Five Host Boroughs who have the relevant sustainability expertise.
