Applications are now open to be a London 2012 Games Maker

London 2012 have today opened their volunteering scheme for the 2012 Games to the general public. London 2012 volunteers will be called Games Makers and LOCOG are hoping to recruit 70,000 people to help during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer of 2012.

The scheme has been open for specialist roles such as doctors for the last few weeks but is now open to everyone who wants to apply. There are some eligibility criteria  – more information about this and details on how to apply can all be found on the London 2012 website
