History

LOCOG demonstrated that it engaged with partner organisations around their sustainability impacts. However this did not manage to ensure consistency. Outcomes from partner organisation activities are being assured under this recommendation: http://www.cslondon.org/recommendations/detail/?id=129 Complete

Progress Made

There are a range of organisations that are working with LOCOG to deliver the Games. These include many where there is not a traditional client - contractor relationship such as: Commercial Partners, the Olympic Broadcast Service (OBS), national broadcasting services, City Operations, training venues and local authorities. LOCOG is taking steps to address the sustainability impacts of these partner organisations through measures such as their sourcing code where there is a contractual relationship and guidance and liaison where there is not. Some issues remain to be resolved and the Commission will continue to monitor this. Progress Made

Progress Made

There are a range of organisations that are working with LOCOG to deliver the Games. These include many where there is not a traditional client - contractor relationship. These include; Commercial Partners. LOCOG have a contractual relationship with their sponsors and licensees which requires them to adhere to LOCOG's Sustainability Plans, including their Sustainable Sourcing Code and Diversity and Inclusion Business Charter The Olympic Broadcast Service (OBS). Part of the IOC that delivers broadcasting services for Olympic and Paralympic Games. LOCOG's Sustainability, Transport and Logistics Teams have engaged with OBS to discuss the sustainability requirements that will need to be implemented and OBS are positively engaged over this. Further challenges and opportunities will come from the subsequent liaison with national broadcasting services. City Operations. London City Operations are led by the GLA. LOCOG has been supporting the GLA to develop a sustainability plan and the implementation of BS8901 by the GLA team in order to ensure complementary approaches across key Games-related areas such as Live Sites, Experience Zones, Look & Feel and Media Centres. National City Operations for venues outside London is a smaller programme than the London operation and the GOE UK Operations team and LOCOG City Liaison team are facilitating dissemination of sustainability information to host cities and other local authorities.
