Recommendation

The residual footprint should be mitigated using a variety of techniques: Mass participation programmes, such as the EDF Energy campaign, where, as far as practical, the results should be quantifiable and additional.

History

Not Fully Achieved

The BP Target Neutral programme offset the emissions from the travel of all spectators that opted into the programme (ca. 500,000 spectators) and continues to communicate with them to offer the opportunity to continue offsetting. EDF Energy continue to promote their mass participation campaign. It is still not clear how this is being quantified, measured and assured. Not Fully Achieved

Status at 01 Oct 2012

Significant Risk

This requires participation data that quantified, measured and assured. We have not seen data to demonstrate this. Significant Risk
